Is that a Wig or Weave Portia Simpson? the Prime Minister of Jamaica is Wearing.

So, I could not help but to wonder if the Prime Minister of Jamaica, Portia Simpson, was wearing a wig or a weave. Or was that all her hair?   I kept checking out her hair only to come up with one conclusion, and that was, IT WAS A WIG… I think she has about 12 wigs that look exactly alike. ‘Cause thats the only hairstyle I ever see her rocking. I may be wrong.  I think she is a very beautiful woman that has a rebel underlying approach….Almost Ghetto when needs be and intelligent and sassy as needed- Men step aside…I love women power.  What more can a woman ask for. She is an inspiration to me and should be for a lot of young women coming up.  But dag on it….can you picture her with real hair…..??? I love her because she seems to be involved in the Jamaican community and when she was invited to come abroad to represent the athletes coming out of Jamaica she stepped up to the plate and did so, – Unlike all other former Jamaican Prime Ministers. These pictures were taken earlier this year at the Young Friends of Team Jamaica Reception to raise funds for Team Jamaica Bikkle the Non Profit Org that helps to take care of the Caribbean athletes who participate in the Penn Relays every year in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. By the Way she also spoke at the reception.  She came across strong, intelligent, and powerful. And might I add-Beautiful.  Love her….

His secret to longevity

He is 111 years old this year! He walks upright and strong, he has his original teeth, walks several miles a day, and still remembers just about everything. He has a clear mind, very spiritual, and follows a vegetarian diet.He eats fish now and again he says.  He was a sailor, and believes that some of his longevity came from fresh air out in the ocean.
I say this to say….every morning as early as possible before the sun comes up, when the air is more pure,  do some deep breathing. Deep breathing is a healer. The more oxygen that goes into your body when you deep breathe, will travel further into your cells. Bacteria and viruses do not like oxygen and will diminish quicker if you do deep breathing….Heal thyself!

HOLISTIC REASONS FOR GOING “NATURAL”

[No perms, chemicals, dyes, excessive heat nor hair that did not grow from your scalp]

SPIRITUAL

God given crown.

Spiritual antennas, receiver and transmitter of divine emanation.

More receptive to spiritual forces (saints and sages instinctively let their hair grow).

Your body is your temple, your hair is sacred and should not be adulterated nor denatured.

Hair locking is an original ancient African cultural tradition, historically symbolized spirituality, spiritual awareness, a spiritual experience and or commitment.

Hair locking signifies a reconnection to spirituality, afro-centricity, naturalness and/or being your own true natural self – An eternal spiritual being having a temporary human experience.

Natural hair is holy and healing.

“To thine own self be true.”- Imhotep

The same power that makes atoms spin and galaxies spiral is the same power causing your precious antennae (hair) to spiral out of your head, giving you the super SPIRI-tual “Hair of the Gods”.

MENTAL

Observe your unique DNA hair pattern.

Experience your true hairitage (Ancestral hair culture).

The spiral principle of the universe is what makes our hair nappy (spiral). Spiral is the movement of creation. The spiral is the most profound motion in the universe and most profound design in the universe – built into all life forms from atoms, DNA, seashells, our hair and the galaxies.

Woman, man and child know thyself!

EMOTIONAL

Elevates and maintains ones confidence, self-esteem and self-love.

PHYSICAL

Healthier Hair.

Hair grows Stronger.

Hair grows faster.

No chemicals introduced into the body.

No hair damage.

Scalp massage friendly.

Haircuts are health destroying (draw on mental faculty, similar to the feeling after loss of sexual fluid – remember Samson and Delilah). The hair shaft bleeds repair fluid at the cut ends. Nutritional loss due to haircutting affects the brain.

LOVE / SEX

Dread Locks are actually Love Locks!

You and your lover can freely run your fingers through each other’s hair and give each other regular scalp massages (What a turn on!).

BEAUTY

Embrace your natural beauty.

 FREEDOM

Easier Maintenance.

Getting hair wet, moisture or sweating is no longer a hair issue. Did I mention anyone you desire including children can run their fingers through your hair?

FINANCIAL

Much less expensive to maintain.

Start and/or support business centered around natural hair care and natural living.

COMMUNITY

Longest lasting and permanent hairstyle (perms are actual temporary).

Your natural hair is nature’s first and most original hair style.

UNIQUENESS

Like your fingerprints, your natural hair is also unique.

More versatile hairstyles.

You stand out more in a sea of permed heads.

NATURALNESS

Your hair shares the same spiral in atoms, electricity, tornadoes, whirlwinds, DNA, seashells and galaxies.

Respecting and honoring your Nappy Kinks is gratitude for what God and nature gave you.

ENVIRONMENT

Most Eco-friendly!

No need for hair care products containing chemicals and no need for excessive heat to burn, fry or kill your hair. You can actually air dry.

 TIME MANAGEMENT

Least amount of time to maintain.

 TRADITION

Honoring your genetic hairitage (ancestral culture) long before the hot comb and man made chemicals existed.

Hair locking and hair braiding is an original African culture tradition signifying afro-centricity.

FUTURE GENERATIONS

Teaching by example to the youth to honor and respect your God and nature given hair.

HOLISTIC

The spiral principle is universal!

Stay connected and relevant to the natural universe.

“To thine own self be true.” – Imhotep

Your hair is holy, keep it holistically healthy!

Conclusion: “Going Natural” with your hair usually creates a domino effect. Much more natural and healthier lifestyle, i.e. diet, products used and consumed, clothing, healing, thinking, spirituality, mannerism, yoga, etc.

How to use castor oil for ailments, hair, skin and body

Castor Oil Pack
(from Dr. David G Williams –Castor Oil, Protection from Deadly Virus)

One of the most useful and least utilized methods of using castor oil is to employ packs. Packs are an economical and efficient method of absorbing the ricinoleic acid and other healing components of castor oil directly into body tissues. (The following basic procedure was outlined in several of the readings of Edgar Cayce.)

To make a castor oil pack you will need the following items: cold pressed castor oil, a standard heating pad, a plastic garbage bag, two or three one-foot square pieces of wool or cotton flannel and one large bath towel.

1. Start by placing the heating pad on a flat surface and turn the setting to high.

2. On top of the pad lay the plastic garbage bag. Next, soak the flannel pieces with castor oil generally about 1/2 cup) and lay them on top of the garbage bag and heating pad.

3. The entire pack can now be placed against the body with the oil-soaked flannel on the skin. For general conditions the pack should be placed on the abdomen. (For treating lower back problems, the pack can be placed there.) To help hold the pack in place and to keep oil from getting on bedding, etc., the body can be wrapped in a large bath towel.

4. The pack should remain in place for at least one hour and the temperature of the heating pad should be kept at the highest temperature tolerable to the patient.

5. When you remove the pack, the remaining oil can be massaged into the skin or cleaned off using a little soda water made from 1 quart of warm water and 2 tablespoons of baking soda.

6. The flannel can be reused if stored properly after removing the pack. Put the flannel in either a plastic bag or zip-loc container and place it in the refrigerator. Before using it next time let it warm up and always add another 1 or 2 tablespoons of fresh cold pressed castor oil. (After a month of use I would recommend using new flannel.)

Conditions Responding to Castor Oil Packs
Due to the many effects of its fatty acid component, ricinoleic acid, the use of castor oil can be used topically to treat a wide variety of health complaints.

Lymphatic Congestion

Obviously, conditions known to be related to poor drainage of the lymphatic system will tend to benefit from this type of therapy. These would include complaints such as:

1. Chronic fluid retention with swollen joints and pain
2. Arthritis
3. Upper respiratory infections involving the sinuses,
tonsils and inner ear
4. Colon problems like Crohn’s disease or colitis
5. Gallbladder disease
6. Boils
7. Liver cirrhosis, hepatitis, enlargement or congestion
8. Menstrual-related congestion
9. Appendicitis
10. Hyperactivity
11. Constipation, bowel impaction or adhesions
12. Swollen lymph nodes
13. Bladder and vaginal infections

Neurological Problems

Several neurological problems have also been responsive to castor oil. These include:

1. Nerve inflammations such as sciatica, shingles, etc.
2. Parkinson’s disease
3. Multiple sclerosis
4. Migraine headaches
5. Cerebral palsy

AIDS
Conditions that stress or compromise the immune system will very often benefit from castor oil packs. Nowhere is this more obvious than with AIDS. I have talked with several AIDS patients who have added castor oil packs (usually for one hour a day) to their treatment regimen with very positive results. Within two weeks, it was not uncommon for them to see increases in their WBC counts (white blood cell counts), platelet counts, hematocrit readings and RBC counts (red blood cells).

I should mention also that in addition to the castor oil packs most of those I talked to are also drinking a combination of olive oil and lemon juice to further stimulate lymphatic flow and liver activity. It can be made by blending the following

1 clean whole lemon, (pulp, rind, seeds and all)
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
1 1/2 cups of distilled water
4 rounded tablespoons of frozen orange juice concentrate

The blended material is then strained through a wire strainer to remove the pulp, which is discarded. The remaining liquid is divided in four equal portions of approximately 1/4 cup each and a portion is consumed with each of the three daily meals and before bedtime.

In addition to stimulating lymphatic flow, the drink increases the flow of bile from the liver and gallbladder, which, in turn, enhances one’s ability to digest essential fatty acids through the Peyer’s patches in the small intestine. It is not uncommon for AIDS patients to experience weight gain and a reversal of a long list of complaints often associated with fatty acid deficiencies.

Jamaican Black Castor Oil

Jamaican Black Castor OilSo, I am using Jamaican Black Castor Oil on my hair and skin because I want to see what people are raging about. So far I like it. Not only that I have done a lot of research and have asked a lot of questions about it, but it is working for me.  Almost everybody likes Jamaican Black Castor Oil.  It makes my skin extremely soft and clear. I am testing it right around my hair line, the edges I might say. As I get older the edges of my hair seems to thin out. But Jamaican Black Castor Oil does so many wonders. Do you know that it is good for Eczema, psoriasis, dandruff, dry itchy scalp, chap lips, cold sore, arthritis, chrons diseases, colitis, ring worms, itching, constipation, cysts, and so many more things.  Most people are using it right now to grow their hair. The best brand to get is the Tropic Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil. This is because this particular brand is more stable, it is still produce the old fashion way vs the processed way its done in China and India, and then imported to the U.S.A. And its bottled in an amber glass bottle to preserve the stability of the Oil. That is why it works.  I swear by it. :-)

Stay tune, I will post another blog on how to create a castor oil pack for ailments like arthritis, cysts, chrons diseases, etc.

Is Stereotypically “Gay” Style Growing On Hip-Hop?

Courtesy of News One for Black America

At the recent MTV Video Music Awards, the world witnessed a new fashion trend that has many Hip-Hop heads scratching their heads — Jeggings.

Otherwise known as the lovechild of jeans and leggings, Jeggings are a hybrid of denim and spandex loved by teenage girls, stick-thin fashionistas, and somewhat surprisingly, Lil’ Wayne.

After his performance at the award show, writers and tweeters alike took to the web to make fun of the leopard pair of skin-tight Jeggings that Wayne was wearing. One enterprising person even created a fake Twitter account for the pants,@Waynes_Jeggings.

The irony of Lil’ Wayne is that he will wear a pair of jeggings but still attempt insult a foe by calling him a fa**ot in one of his lyrics. But then his own fans will question his sexuality for his fashion choices. Lil’ Wayne knowingly wears clothing that will bring about that attention, aware of the fact that in hip-hop, defending your masculinity is crucial to credibility. However it’s a risk he’s willing to take, perhaps a privilege of having a well-earned reputation of being a thug.

Eliminate Dead Skin Cells

Allowing dead skin cells to accumulate on the face increases aging of the skin, To prevent this:

  • Use a natural based cleanser morning and night.
  • Use an exfoliating facial scrub 2 to 3 times a week
  • Always use a natural moisturizer for your skin type.
  • Your body responds better with full natural products instead of half natural or synthetic products.  Synthetic products ages the skin, while natural products slows the aging process.

Brushing your skin gently 3 to 4 times weekly with a natural bristle brush before taking a shower will help to exfoliate and prevent (keratosis pilaris), the build up of dead skin cells that covers the follicle opening and resembles thousands of tiny blackheads on your legs, calves, or buttocks.
