Is the Economist Story True?

Whenever my buddy Karl sends me a link, I pay carefuly attention because it always contain some gem.

Well, this link was the November 12 story from the Economist entitled – Gloomy Jamaica, Unfixable?

I not only read the story, but I also read the comments.

No one had a big quarrel with the arguments presented, but flavored the observations with their own spin.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude from the tranquity of the hurricane season.  However the twin devils of crime and debt are wreaking equivalent havoc on our people. Yes we need to view the issues of crime and debt like raving, monster  hurricanes.

Hurricanes affect us all, and we band together to weather the storm, and rebuild. We will need assistance to do so.  We will need both Divine and earthly assistance when we begin to put the scope of the issue in its stark dimensions.

Has the orgasmic  europhia we have experienced from the historic  performace of Bolt et al prevented us from being sober from the harsh realities of Jamaica?
