Murphy saves the day…As Bahamas upstage Ja in sprints

CATHERINE HALL, St James — Jamaica’s Jazeel Murphy continued his brilliant 2011 season last night when he strode majestically to a personal best 10.27 seconds to win the gold medal in the Under-20 boys 100m at the 40th LIME CARIFTA Games at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.

Murphy, who came back from two injury-plagued seasons to win the Boys Class 1 event at the recent ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ Champs, edged Trials winner Kemar Bailey-Cole to give Jamaica the one-two and deny The Bahamas a clean sweep of all sprint medals last night. Read more>>
