Gyptian was presented with a gold plaque for ‘Hold You’. Irie Jam’s 93.5 FM radio personality DJ Roy at the Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), reported that Jamaican reggae/dancehall artist Gyptian’s 2010 hit single “Hold You” certified Gold sell over 500,000 digital downloads. Gyptian is first Jamaican artist to do so in the last six years.
The last Jamaican artist to earned gold singles status were Sean Paul and Damian Marley in 2005.

“Hold You” remix with platinum rapper Nicki Minaj earned Gyptian a Soul Train Award for Best Reggae Artist in 2010 and the track reached #31 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hop Hop Songs chart. In the UK, “Hold You” climbed to #16 on the Singles chart and earned Gyptian a MOBO award. Gyptian’s next album is ‘Sex, Love and Reggae is scheduled to drop this year on VP Records.
