Is This a Joke, Nancy?

According to a news item I just read, Nancy Pelosi  suggested at a town hall meeting on Wednesday that impeaching Trump  would further “divide the country” and could do more harm than good.

Surely you jest, Nancy!

Are you so worried about dividing the country, you won’t try to win the House and Senate in November?

Because you can’t win without risking more division.

You know the midterms will be ugly. You can expect the worst from Trump as he fights to stay in the White House and out of prison.

You will either have to risk dividing the country  or allow a corrupt, abusive, despotic and dangerous president to have his way.

And that means risking the possibility of a nuclear holocaust.

There’s no path to compromise.

At least a third of the American people are committed to Trump. And it’s their way or the highway.

They aren’t going to worry about dividing the country.

The time to worry about dividing the country is long past. Now, we have to figure out how to save the country – and the world – from catastrophe.

And if we have to antagonize Trump’s loyalists, that’s just too bad.

As the old saying goes, you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.

Let’s make sure the will of he majority is respected this time.

Let’s make sure that  the rule of law is restored and that no one is above the law

Let’s restore integrity in our government.

And if that makes some Americans mad, well, you can’t please all of the people all of the time.

Let them do their worst.

If they resort to armed resistance, they must be met with the appropriate law enforcement – or if necessary military – response.

The stakes are too high to waver in the face of a threatened insurgency.

And if you don’t have the stomach for the fight, Nancy, then the Democrats must find a House leader who does.
