The Associated Press (see snippet below) is reporting that Cuba is preparing for the oil spill reaching their shoreline. Is Cuba being an alarmist? I don’t think so. It is better to be “safe than sorry”. Since the reports came out about it reaching the other South Florida my concerns was with the Caribbean and Jamaica. I know they have talked about this loop current that will take it pass Caribbean sea but what about a hurricane. I am not a scientist but I think the Caribbean could be impacted. I hope Jamaica is prepared?
Cuba preparing for possible arrival of oil spill
HAVANA – Cuba’s civil defense chief said Tuesday that authorities are preparing coastal residents for the oil spill fouling the Gulf of Mexico, and a top military official said its possible arrival would be “a disaster.”
It still is unclear whether some of the millions of gallons of spilled crude will reach Cuba, though government scientists appeared on state television within days of the April 20 rig explosion that touched off the spill to say the island was not immediately at risk.
What I’d like to do is KICK his butt, and THAT’S toneing it down quite a bit. Bill G.
The Tea baggers are brutish, uncivilised and antisocial. I would be embarassed to have him represent my district. I don’t think they are capable of toning it down. I predict many of the tea party will be 1 term and will be replaced by less impulsive candidates.
