Deadspin makes fun of the Jamaican Basketball Team in an article titled “Roy Hibbert Can Never Play For Team USA, And It’s All Jamaica’s Fault”

Deadspin writer/podcaster, Tom Ley,  makes fun of the Jamaican Basketball Team in article titled “Roy Hibbert Can Never Play For Team USA, And It’s All Jamaica’s Fault”. See below and listen to the podcast.

The story Hibbert’s desire “heated  up” as the US had a training camp in Las Vegas recently. Marc Stein, NBA correspondent for ESPN.com tweeted this today. ” Vegas leftover morsel: USA Basketball still covets Roy Hibbert but all FIBA signals lead USAB to believe @Hoya2aPacer locked into Jamaica. Much as both sides want to find workaround, Hibbert HAS played for Jamaica senior NT. FIBA rules make switch to Team USA near impossible”

Wonder if he will comeback and play for Jamaica.

On this week’s excerpt from Slate’s Hang Up and Listen podcast, Josh Levin breaks down Hibbert’s messy entanglement with the Jamaican team, and also takes us on a tour through Team Jamaica’s delightfully obtuse Twitter account.
