Ja’s James upsets 400 metre field

OLIVIA James created the first major upset of the 40th Lime CARIFTA Games last night at the Montego Bay Sports Complex after winning the Under-20 girls 400 metres in a personal best 52.64 seconds in one of the most anticipated events of the three-day meet.

A second false-start saw the disqualification of IAAF World Junior Champion Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas and Jamaica’s World Junior leader Chris-Ann Gordon, her biggest challengers who were expected to walk away with the gold medal. Read more>>
