Let me hear someone defend this…

Yesterday a video surfaces of Dallas Mavericks basketball player Josh Howard “dissing” the US national anthem.  In the video he says “The Star Spangled Banner’ is going on right now. I don’t even celebrate that (expletive). I’m black.” The most interesting part was how he uses the “I’m black” term. It seems to infer that all black people do not celebrate the US national anthem. It is the sort of statement that starts stereotypes. That is another topic.

I was listening to a talk radio show and the white host, who normally defends black athletes against any criticisms, said he could not defend this. He then asked if any caller could defend this. I heard quiet a few black callers defend it with the “sins of the past” argument. None experience these “major” sins but this is how they defended him. In  my opinion he has no defense. This is a millionaire athlete who is just dumb.
