LIME yesterday provided sponsorship cheques totalling $1.83 million to help 18 local educational institutions send teams to the 117th Penn Relays set for April 28-30 at the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
At a handing-over ceremony held at the Wyndham Hotel in New Kingston, the full service telecoms company presented cheques valued at $100,000 to each of the schools. In addition, all members of the travelling contingents will be able to telephone home, as LIME will provide ‘Jus Talk’ calling cards to each athlete, coach and administrator attending the meet, representing a value of $30,000.
