On this day in Jamaican history: On June 10, 1940died in London, England. His remains were later interned at the National Heroes Park, Kingston Jamaica.  Marcus Garvey was born in St. Ann’s Bay, St. Ann, on August 17, 1887 and was Jamaica’s first National Hero. – Learn more about our National Heroes here – http://bit.ly/10P8OWo

  • At this point, after so much wasted time and effort on the part of Congress, real health care reform continues to be ephemeral. I now hope the bill will not pass. Until we have something meaningful, I am with Dennis Kucinich and Howard Dean. Vote it down! It would have been so easy to just expand Medicare for those without health insurance.

  • I have been trying to ignore most of this while they hash it out-sounds as if this does need to be voted down or else it’s from the frying pan into the fire for many people. This is one thing alas that we cannot add to the list of things to give thanks for today.
