Over 20,000 Jamaicans could be deported – Trinidad going for a “knockout” with deportations of migrants

The government of Trinidad & Tobago announced it has plans to crack down on the estimated 110,000 migrants living there illegally. All migrants have until January 2015 to get their document in order. The deportation campaign will start after the amnesty period and will include knocking on doors to track illegal migrants down. The government of Trinidad & Tobago estimates there are 20,000 Jamaicans living on the twin-island illegally.
