Poem: I’ll Wait for You

I’ll wait for you—so I told myself every day;

Until I let myself go, I let myself go astray:

I weep, I whisper, that I become more than a night,

Far brighter than a Gem, a diamond, a crystal;

That I become a beautiful flower, a rose, that I become bright,

As your morning light,

Untouched when you are near or far away:

“Even when you reach to the highest stars that shine so bright!”

I’ll wait for you—when you take the greatest flight,

And leave me in grief, leave me with a weeping eye:

I will allow myself to forgive, love me gently and far more wise;

This I told myself, starting today & every day:

Even if you never look back, I command myself to pray;

To care about me—first, to care about you, each and everyday

Even if you never see the brink of day:

Just remember, love has made you, love is here to stay!

About the author

I was born in Jamaica West Indies, immigrated to the United States of America at the tender age of ten. I've had the great privilege as an uprising reggae singer to perform as an open act for various great singers like Dennis Brown, Calypso Rose and others I admired. I also had the great opportunity to meet Dr. Bettye Shabazz and other great leaders. Because of my divine supreme using giants and various people to help develop within and allowed the higher God consciousness of my mind to see the greatness and love in me. I consider myself a wildflower, singer, poet, writer, and a great performer. I am working on strengthening all areas of my spiritual gifts. Peace and Blessings!
