Photo Credit: Michael Dam I have a distinct nose, a bright eye, A great smile, when joy meet my heart, When joy fills my life and sorrows is nowhere in sight: Still, I give thanks for my love one’s Near and far, and the rising sun light: I have a distinct nose, a bright eye, A great smile, that light up a sad heart, An unhappy life, and when I am uncertain, Think that I am unwise; I look in the mirror and put on a beautiful, gracious smile: I have a distinct nose that warns me Of a bothersome soul, a worried look, an un-perishable food that may be unhealthy, and not right, for the soul—body mind: Yet, I thankful for my maker, who allows me To be aware of those things, and presences, Young and old, that may seem unpolite, May seem not kind, wish not to see Me smile, see me shine, be a success, Move forward; regardless of how it may seem, I encourage myself to appreciate, my senses, the prosperous blessings and remind myself To continue to be more polite: I have a distinct nose, a bright eye, That some admire, some may not like, some care less, about my presence, even about the grey and the clouds in the sky: Yet, I am thankful for my maker, Who taught me to observe the colorful leaves, to remember my love one’s, and accept My wealthy mind,’ that encourages me to be more satisfy: And appreciate my growth, The glorious, compassionate, presence, That is with me, as I thrive and continue to be more thankful, to be much more polite. © 2023 Empress Journee
