The University of Technology (UTech) led the way among tertiary institutions at last weekend’s staging of the 117th Penn Relays Carnival in Philadelphia.
World Junior 100 metres bronze medallist, Carrie Russell, captured gold in the collegiate women’s 100 metres Championship event. She turned back the two top United States collegiate sprinters – defending champion Lakya Brookins from the Universty of South Carolina and Louisiana State University’s (LSU) Samoy Hackett – to win in 11.29 seconds, as Brookins (11.39) and Hackett ((11.43) finished second and third, respectively.
