Strong J’can presence at Ponce Grand Prix today

THE inform Nickel Ashmeade, double World Junior Championships 100m champion Dexter Lee and quarter-miler Novlene Williams-Mills will lead a number of Jamaicans who will take part in the 5th Ponce Grand Prix track meet at the Francisco ‘Paquito’ Montaner Stadium in Puerto Rico today.

Ashmeade, who ran a world-leading 19.95 seconds in the 200m at the 8th Jamaica National Jamaica International invitational last week, will line up in the 100m against Lee who ran a personal best 10.15 seconds last week in Guadeloupe, former Olympic champion Justin Gatlin of the USA and Zimbabwe’s Brian Dzingai.
