Jamaica

Wow…On the backs on many before us…

Like many of you I never thought I would see this day. A black man as president of the US. Many of as Jamaicans will cherish this day but it is extremely more precious to black Americans. I spoke to a friend today who told me about his father taking him get a hot dog during segregation. He was young child at the time. After eating the hot dog he was thirsty. The nearest water fountain was whites only. His father tried to line up and drink from it was “called” out of the line. He explained to me the humiliation on his father’s face. He never understood it back then but he will never forget. His regret is that his father is not alive today to see this. There are many other stories out there but you hear these personal stories you can help but appreciate that this moment came on the backs of many before us….
